Priority #2
Breaking Barriers to Justice
Breaking barriers to justice by expanding programs like the Veterans Accountability Court, Night Traffic Court, and Jail Outreach, ensuring that fairness and due process are accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
Judge McRae is committed to breaking down the systemic barriers that prevent too many individuals from accessing fair and timely justice. Through innovative, community-centered programs like the Veterans Accountability Court, Night Traffic Court, and Jail Outreach initiatives, he is expanding the reach of the legal system to serve people where they are, regardless of income, background, or circumstance. These programs address the root causes of legal challenges by offering second chances, connecting individuals to mental health and substance abuse resources, and ensuring that court access isn’t limited by transportation, employment schedules, or incarceration.
Under Judge McRae’s leadership, the plan includes increasing awareness of these programs through targeted outreach, collaborating with local agencies and service providers to strengthen wraparound support, and leveraging data to track participation and outcomes. By bringing the court into the community and tailoring solutions to real-life barriers, Judge McRae ensures that fairness, due process, and dignity are not just ideals but are lived realities for every resident of Rockdale County.
